SO MUCH SOUP NEWS!

It's been awhile since we've blogged, dear Soupers, so there will be several HUGE HUGE things in this entry.

1.Click here for a downloadable version of Devon's interview with Ahmed Gallab, the newly welcomed drummer from Of Montreal! - Feather boas, crazy cars, and more. Recorded from the 11/14 broadcast.

2. It's Thanksgiving time, which means Black Friday, which also means, sadly, there is no Alphabet Soup for any of us this upcoming Friday - go be insane, frenzied shoppers instead.

3. BE SURE to tune in December 5, though (at the usual time, of course), for Alphabet Soup's exclusive recorded interview with SONDRE LERCHE! He spoke with us (Devon) before his show here yesterday, Saturday the 22nd, at the Paradise Rock Club. Listen in for sharks, Burt Bacharach, and 007!

STAY TUNED! ♥

UPDATE 11/17

Hey Soupers,

Be sure you check out one of the shows that's happening tonight (or both?!): Jack's Mannequin with fun. (Nate from The Format's new band) at the Paradise OR Margot and the Nuclear So and So's at T. T. The Bear's Place. JM is definitely sold out, but if you're a superfan, you'll be able to swipe some scalper tickets at the doors, most likely. Do it for me--sadly, it seems that my academics always get in the way of my education.

Stay tuned--this week's letter is N!
Lots of REALLY GOOD stuff coming up in the next month on Alphabet Soup.
...and when we say REALLY GOOD, we mean REALLY GOOD.

We'll be posting the mp3 of the Ahmed interview soon...as soon as we figure out the technology! :)

sincerely yours,
d,j,&cl

Devon dropped her phone in the toilet during our show. Monumental times at WTBU.

She also did a kick ass interview with the drummer from Of Montreal. She's a woman of many talents.

Raincoat Song

Hey Soupers! I know you all love The Decemberists as much as I do, so I thought I'd share this song with you. They played it at the show at the Orpheum this past Thursday. It's called "Raincoat Song" and it's brilliantly simple: a Colin Meloy masterpiece.

my forcible insomnia=your benefit

Hey Soupers,

As I sit here beating my brain around my skull cavity writing a paper at 3am, I thought I'd recommend some "Late Night Paper Writing Albums," and the moods they bring around, for you, in the future, if you ever have a night like this one.

1. Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago: calming/inspiring!
2. Fleet Foxes' Fleet Foxes: reassuring
3. Conor Oberst's Conor Oberst: rev it up! (okay, I know I don't make sense anymore. Forgive?)

What about you? Do you have a couple albums that you revert to when studying/working late into the night/morning? Let us know!
